Nottingham Forest Football Club, formed in 1865 by a group of shinty players, the club adopted the distinctive Garibaldi Red colour for which they are well known. In 1898 the club moved to the City Ground where they remain today.

We were greeted outside the ground by our guide and given souvenir lanyards with passes then taken inside. The tour started with a short talk then a walk down their history corridor where wall posters provided a timeline of the clubs achievements. The stands were the next place on our tour where we had a full view of the entire ground from the directors’ box.

We then moved on to the changing rooms where we discovered that the away team has very basic facilities in a stark white room. The home team changing room was a much more welcoming site with posters of the players on the wall behind their changing seat.

Next it was onto pitch-side through the players tunnel.

The final visit was to the museum where we were able to see a range of artifacts including copies of cups won, old football shirts and various souvenirs from matches played over the years.
