Items for Upcycling

Please consider bringing the following items to the General Meeting and deposit in the containers in the side room where the convenors are, as not only do we keep them out of landfill or the sea, they raise much needed funds for charities.

  • Prescription glasses and sunglasses are assessed and sent all over the world, enabling people who cannot afford them to study and earn a living. You can also take them to Thomas Bond optician in Netherfield.
  • Flexible plastic lids for Dove Hospice – Linda Spencer kindly takes them to the nearest collection point in Cotgrave. If everyone brought 2 lids to the general meeting, we’d have over 300 each time, so worth collecting. They are recycled locally, in Colwick.
  • Postage stamps for RNIB are more collectable now we don’t receive so many through the post. Please cut a quarter of an inch around the stamp.

Keep these items out of the landfill and sea, while supporting charities!
