We aim to arrange modestly priced meals at different restaurants. We like to try a range of menus and not have to travel too far. To avoid fuss there are choices from set menus. People with special diet requirements will need to contact the restaurant themselves.

Some restaurants accept payment on the night of the meal. When restaurants require payment in advance, this is collected at General Meetings. We have a card reader for paying by debit or credit card. Alternatively you can pay by bank transfer which saves you having to queue at the General Meeting.

June 2026: Baba

The group went to Baba Turkish restaurant, and the general opinion was very satisfied. This restaurant is next to Sneinton Market place, and we had a side room booked just for our group, with a bar and no background music. The staff catered very well with our group of forty, and the meals were generous and tasty. There was a range of meat and fish kebabs, moussaka and much more.

Altogether, very enjoyable evening!

February 2026: Panda Mami

This was our first visit to an all you can eat buffet.

There was a lot of positive feedback about the food, and it was certainly value for money. If you are planning to take any hungry youngsters out for a meal, this venue is to be recommended.

December 2025: Xmas Lunch at Mapperley G.C.

A very good time was had by all at our Christmas Lunch at Mapperley Golf Club. The room was decorated and the attractive table decorations made by Gwen and Mary were raffled off at the end.

The catering was very good and after our meal Leanne led a ‘singalong’ including popular Christmas songs. Everyone had dressed in their best and some strutted their stuff dancing!
