The rides are normally around 20 miles, but we can we arrange to meet you in Colwick Country Park if you want a shorter ride.

Recent Rides
April 2026: Beeston
For the second time in April, we cycled to Beeston for a well earned cuppa in Café Nero. There was a slight headwind on the way out and a following wind blew us home along the Trent.
Have you got a bike not doing much in the garage? Why not join us on a Saturday ride?

November 2025: More Canals and Rivers
One of our rides in November took in the new bridge, the Nottingham Canal, Highfields Park, Beeston and the River Trent. Scenic or what! And we had great weather.
We meet every Saturday morning (unless it’s pouring). So come on, get that bike out of the shed, have fun and get fitter with us.

September 2025: Canal & River
Six of us were pedalling along the Canal and the River Trent. The ride included a coffee and cake stop at the Lockkeeper’s Cottage in Beeston.

April 2025: Southwell
Four of us set out for our Easter Saturday ride on a dry but windy day We cycled along side of the River Trent, then from Thurgarton up the farm track past Hollybeck Garden Centre to then have the pleasure of free wheeling all the way down to Southwell, where we stopped to have coffee and cake at the Minster Café, not that healthy, but we were getting the exercise.
After leaving Southwell we made our way to Morton where we chanced upon an Easter ‘Scarecrow’ competition. The residents had really gone to town with their figures representing (we think) children’s fairy tales and TV programs. We saw two versions of the Flower Pot Men and Little Weed, and low and behold two easter bunnies.
We then made our way back through Bleasby and home. A pleasant day all round in good company.

February 2025: Beeston
We cycled along the canal to the University boating lake. Our mandatory coffee stop was in Beeston where we had a bit of a crisis with a jammed bike lock !!! Returning via the river made a lovely circular ride.

November 2024: Southwell
Great cycle to visit our fellow cyclist Kevin residing in "The Workhouse" at Southwell. The Paupers Choir put on a really good show. We then went on to have National Trust Scones with jam and cream while the paupers made the most of their gruel.

May 2024: Derby
It was a hot sunny day in May so we decided to catch the train to Derby then cycle home. We started down the Derwent Valley heritage way on a fabulously smooth river path to Borrowash.
Following sustrans Route 6 we cycled through West Park in Long Eaton , then picked up the Erewash Canal to Trent Lock. Here the cafe beckoned and we were unable to resist coffee and scones.
There was a real holiday atmosphere at the next Lock with market stalls and live entertainment. Our biggest treat though was seeing two Hobby birds flying overhead. A very professional looking birdwatcher told us that they are our smallest bird of prey and it is unusual to see two flying together.
It should then have been a simple task to follow the river home but Seven Trent had closed the path with no warning in order to lay new piping. At this point I could tell you how we got back but that's another story !!!!

February 2024: Nottingham
Fabulous ride in sunshine for one of our outings in February. The photos speak for themselves. And we started off mending a puncture thanks to Richard (Prince of Punctures) Downing. We meet every Saturday morning and cycle for around 3 hours. Some of us – not me – go on to do longer rides. So why not get your bike out of the shed and join us?
